Nutrition Therapy Institute

Creating optimal health through nutrition education

NTI International

In 2010, NTI opened the first of its international schools. The need for global nutrition education may not have been predictable, but when you consider the increasing globalization and the erosion of traditional cultures and diets, the need for remedial thought around food makes sense. For decades the United States has been exporting our fast food culture to countries around the world. It is no wonder that there has been a burgeoning of health issues similar to our own in foreign lands.

That is exactly the scenario that has emerged in Japan. The Japanese have long been noted for their industrious and disciplined nature. Because of this, Japan has become a small island with a huge economy, and their economy has created that same stressful demand on the individual that is so endemic to the US. Between the erosion of the Japanese traditional diet, the adoption of poor fast food habits and a modern day stress level, the Japanese made known their need for nutrition therapy.

NTI Japan is our affiliate school in Tokyo. NTI has produced a curriculum suited to the culture and the educational requirements for practitioners there. The Japanese standards are high, which is a compatibility factor since the NTI standard is high no matter where the location. The Japanese have a strong orientation to science and expect nutritional information to be grounded in solid scientific principles.

NTI would not have a presence in Japan or anywhere else were it not for the erosion of traditional foods and cultures, and the high value placed on convenience in our modern way of life. We are expecting to establish schools in additional countries in the near future.
