Program FAQs
Can I contact a graduate of your program?
You can call the admissions department for contact information on graduates who’ve agreed to be contacted by prospective students: 303-377-3974. You can also contact the graduates profiled in our careers section.
As a student of NTI, is it a requirement to attend the yearly retreats in Colorado?
No. It is recommended, but not required. You may opt to take the retreat coursework at home by setting aside quiet time over a weekend to complete the assignments.
Can I continue to work full time and attend NTI full time and graduate in 2 years?
Yes, but it is a challenge! If you don’t have a science background it may be very challenging at first and you may just want to take it slowly; one course per term. If you live in Colorado, you can complete the program partially in the Denver classroom and partially home study. Each course is held one evening per week.
How is this program different than a B.S. in nutrition or dietetics?
NTI does not offer college degrees. NTI grants diplomas as a private occupational school. A B.S. from a university is based on the science and tradition of the American Dietetics Association (ADA). Although the basis of our curriculum is grounded in the same ADA information, it is greatly expanded to concentrate primarily on holistic and naturopathic principles.
Am I eligible for Federal Financial Aid (i.e. FAFSA, Pell Grants)?
Federal financial aid is available to students attending Title IV schools. NTI is not a Title IV school so our students are not eligible to receive federal financial aid. However, funding is available through the Workforce Investment Act. This is government administered funding that covers up to $5,000 of the cost of all programs offered at NTI. To learn more or apply for funding, simply go into a Workforce Center in your county during business hours for a quick 30 minute orientation on one of their computers. You will learn what to do next and schedule future appointments during this visit. It can take up to a month and a half to gather necessary documentation and attend the workshops and orientations needed for approval, so be sure and get started well before school begins.
